by Sandra Riley Visit Date:January 23, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "This resort is in the best place on the Island, within a short motorbike ride to Saladan and within easy walking distance to the other resorts, bars and restaurants on Klong Dao beach. However the service isn t the best, and the breakfast is very poor, but that aside, its a good place to stay" | The booking was very easy , and efficent thank you , also arranged collection from Krabi airport to the resort the was great , no hassel ., January 15, 2010

by Allen Visit Date:December 29, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "This was a return visit after 8 years and we were happy to have come back. Hotel prices in Thailand have been rising rapidly and the resort has become much pricier, but it is still good value. Rooms were clean, the staff is very friendly, and repairs were made quickly when needed (e.g. replacing a broken water heater). There is an excellent travel service on site and free wi-fi in the lobby area. The resort is located on a quiet part of the beach, which we like. It is an easy walk to the restaurants on the other side of the bay and to town. There is also terrific snorkelling off the rocks at the end of the lagoon and a quiet hidden beach on the other side of the point. The restaurant could still use some improvement. Breakfast buffet is barely adequate (cold pancakes for instance and skimpy fruit selection) but the worst problem is the number of flies that interfere with the enjoyment of eating. It s no fun constantly protecting one s food from the swarms. As a result, we never ate any meal other than our included breakfast at the Kaw Kwang restaurant. That complaint aside, we recommend Kaw Kwang as a good place to stay. Allen from Canada" | Smooth., January 19, 2010 by Laine Belovas Visit Date:December 28, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Good value, great location. At the northern end of Klong Dao beach, not far from Ban Saladan (dining, shopping). Bungalows were nice, the pool and beach just perfect. A peaceful location, still only a short walk to all the bars and restaurants on the beach. Restaurant was ok (if you like spicy food, just tell them, otherwise you ll get the touristy-toned-down version of real Thai food)" | perfect !, January 12, 2010

by Anthonia Lievens Visit Date:December 22, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "This is a very nice hotel, staff is very helpfull and friendly , but there too many swedish families , so when you come to relax don t go there because there are screaming, crying and very loud swedisch families in your face all day.kids from 0 till 18 all over the place. And the swedish are those people who put towels on the sunbeds at 6 o clock in the morning to reserve them for the rest of the day.It is a pity because the resort itself is very very good" | December 16, 2009 by P O`Neill Visit Date:December 14, 2009 "cozy hill is great value" | Fast respons.Working good!, December 6, 2009
by Alexander Al-Hadad Visit Date:November 27, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The personal was super and the room was clean, large and fresh! Breakfast was ok. Perfect hotel to live in.Pool was great." | The booking service was very fast and efficient, and actually cheaper than booking the hotel directly. I d definately recommend Sawadee.com, and I d use them again for our next visit to Thailand. It s a shame the hotel we chose wasn t up to the same standard as the booking agent. Thanks anyway, hope we have better luck next time., November 28, 2009
by Mr Christopher Davison Visit Date:November 20, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The Kaw Kwang Beach Resort on Ko Lanta has the priviledge of being located on one of the best spots of one of the best beaches on the whole of the island. We stayed in one of the Modern Beachfront Bungalows which had great views, and was about 10 metres walk to the beach, which is very gently sloping with very soft grey/white sand. The room was very nice, although the shower in the bathroom looked like it was bodged onto the back as an afterthought.Unfortunately this is where the praise for the hotel ends. The reception staff were always happy and helpful, although you can t find anybody except the security guard after 10pm. The staff in the restaurant and pool area were pretty much useless, I m sure the majority of them had never worked in a hotel before. Service at breakfast was slow and disjointed, and the view most mornings in the restaurant was of the two pool cleaners sat around sending text messages on thier phones. There s also a small water feature between the restaurant seating and the pool which was very dirty and probably harboured countless bredding mosquitoes! The pool however was good, it has a perfect location looking out over the beach, open from 7am to 10pm apparently, but the cleaners were still there at 9am every morning so you had to wait for them to finish. The food was fairly poor compared to the other local restaurants, and breakfast had a particularly poor selection. If you re vegetarian then breakfast will consist of fruit and toast, and there s a rediculous queue for toast some days as it s cooked in a small convection oven type thing which only does 4 slices at a time. My wife tried to order an alternative as every hot option one day included meat, but she was told she couldn t as that was what breakfast was that day and she d have to wait until the next day (which also turned out to be meat)! Try to get there early before the main rush of people if you want any chance of a decent meal. The room we had was very nice, large, and had fridge, tv, aircon etc. It wasn t really modern as described, although it looked like it has been refurbished in places. The whole hotel was a bit tatty around the edges with some parts desperately needing some redecoration, and some attention to detail. There was no safe in the room, and the safety deposit boxes at reception are charged at a daily rate. The reception also provides laundry, tours, car hire etc, most of which are overpriced compared to the surrounding businesses.Overall we did enjoy our time on Ko Lanta, the island is stunning, but the hotel was poor compared to others for the same (or even less) money. I wouldn t recommend this hotel and I wouldn t stay there again. You can get much more for your money a few hundred yards down the beach. It s a shame as the location really is beautiful, if they just spent a bit of time tidying up the place, and improved the service considerably, it would have been great. At least there s plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants a short walk down the beach. To sum up, it s an overpriced 3 star hotel that seems to be struggling to provide the appropriate service.Enjoy Ko Lanta but stay away from Kaw Kwang Beach Resort." | The booking Service was excellent and we encountered no problems. The reservation was easy and we were expected and welcomed, May 10, 2009 by MIchael Grant Collins Visit Date:May 7, 2009 "The hotel was impeccable and the staff friendly and efficient. The location was quite a distance from the main drag but a pleasant walk away along the beach. The rooms were clean and good value." | Everything ok., April 20, 2009 by marie elodie Visit Date:April 11, 2009 "We did not like this hotel. Employees are not welcoming and almost do not speak English. Food at the restaurant is not good. We had cockroach in the bedroom and water of the bathromm was smelling like sewer." | Hotels & Resorts RecommendDestination:Koh Chang Location:White Sand Beach Address:88-89, Moo 4, White Sand Beach, City:Koh Chang, Trat 23170 Start Rate:50 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:11 GMT) Destination:Sukhothai Location:Sukhothai Address:10/2 Moo 1, Jarodvithithong Road, City:Sukhothai 64210 Start Rate:35 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:29 GMT) Destination:Koh Chang Location:Lonely Beach Address:99/1 Moo 4, Mooban Klong Prao, (Lonely beach) City:Tambol Koh Chang, Trat Start Rate:72 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:11 GMT) Destination:Phuket Location:Surin Beach Address:106/52 Moo 3, Cherngtalay, City:Thalang, Phuket 83110 Start Rate:44 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:28 GMT) Destination:Phuket Location:Patong Beach Address:19 Sirirat Road, Patong Beach, City:Kathu, Phuket 83150 Start Rate:50 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:28 GMT) Destination:Bangkok Location:Sukhumvit Road, Soi 41 Address:16 Sukhumvit Soi 41 City:Bangkok 10110 Start Rate:77 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:03 GMT) Destination:Bangkok Location:Sukhumvit Road, Soi 11 Address:14, 16 Soi 11, Sukhumvit Road, City:Bangkok 10110 Start Rate:73 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:03 GMT) Destination:Phuket Location:Karon Beach Address:509 Patak Road, Karon Beach, City:Muang, Phuket 83100 Start Rate:121 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:27 GMT) Destination:Bangkok Location:Charoenkrung Road, Soi 50 Address:1552/2 Soi 50, Charoenkrung Rd., City:Bangrak, Bangkok 10500 Start Rate:72 USD (Rate as of Mar 12 2010 08:26:02 GMT) | |
